AIRWAY RESEARCH LEADER

It’s More Than Just Crooked Teeth. It’s About Their Future.

Many common childhood issues are directly linked to an underdeveloped airway. If you’ve noticed any of these, your child deserves a Specialist’s Blueprint:

  • Restless Sleep: Tossing, turning, or snoring at night.

  • Mouth Breathing: Daytime or nighttime "open-mouth" habits.

  • Dark Circles: "Allergic shiners" or shadows under the eyes.

  • Grinding: Teeth grinding that affects sleep quality and tooth wear.

Because You Only Want the Absolute Best for Them.

As a parent, you know that "good enough" isn't an option when it comes to your child's health. You’ve noticed the signs—the restless sleep, the mouth breathing, the grinding, and you know it’s time for a specialist who sees the whole picture.

  • The Clinical DNA: Dr. Layla Fijany doesn't just look at teeth; she is a leading researcher in pediatric airway development. She spent years at UCLA perfecting the science of how a child’s jaw structure impacts their ability to breathe and thrive.

  • The Elite Standard: As one of the few board-certified specialists in the region, Dr. Layla Fijany provides the highest quality care money can buy, ensuring your child’s facial structure develops correctly from the start.

  • The Result: We don't just "fix" teeth. We provide the peace of mind that comes from knowing your child has the structural foundation to grow into their healthiest, most confident self.

The Stakes Are Higher Than You Might Think.

  • Improper Facial Growth. When a child consistently breathes through their mouth instead of their nose, it can alter the natural course of their facial development. This often contributes to a recessed chin, a narrow smile, and significant dental crowding that may require more complex treatment later in life.

  • Challenges with Focus & Learning. The restless, low-quality sleep caused by a compromised airway is strongly linked to cognitive challenges. For many children, this manifests as ADHD-like symptoms, difficulty concentrating in the classroom, and problems with memory and learning.

  • A Foundation for Future Health Problems. Childhood breathing issues don't simply disappear with age. They often set the stage for significant health complications in adulthood, dramatically increasing the risk of developing obstructive sleep apnea, chronic migraines, and painful TMJ disorders.

Identifying the root cause today is the most important investment you can make in their future health.

Orthodontic FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost? Do you take insurance?

Costs vary depending on the type of treatment (braces vs aligners) and how complex your case is. At your consultation, we’ll provide a personalized estimate. We also offer payment plans to make treatment affordable. We’ll check with your insurance provider before starting, so you’ll know exactly what portion they’ll cover and what your out-of-pocket cost will be.

At what age is it best to start orthodontics?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a checkup by age 7. That doesn’t mean treatment will start right away; often, we just monitor growth until the right time. Adults of any age can benefit too, since teeth can be moved as long as they’re healthy.

How long does the treatment take?

Treatment time depends on the complexity of your bite and your goals. Simple cases may take as little as 6–12 months, while more involved cases can take 18–30 months. On average, most people wear braces or aligners for about 18–24 months.

What is Orthodontics?

Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that focuses on how teeth, jaws, and the bite fit together. Using braces, clear aligners, and other appliances, orthodontists gently guide teeth into better positions. The goal is not only a beautiful smile, but also a healthier bite that makes chewing, speaking, and cleaning your teeth easier.
